Festival from 3rd to 9th and second part Mostar Intercultural Festival from 10th

pages. We apologize for a delay. Deadline for the application is 15th of April. CRAMS visit in Mostar In the frame
of an intercultural exchange organized by CRAMS (MIFOC Italian branch) , fifteen
young animators from Monticello/ italia came to Mostar. During three days they
proposed a program of activities to children of the town (juggling workshop,
face painting, creation of tee-shirts, wood games...) that took place in the
orphenage, in Spanish square and at night, they conclued this event by a fire
juggling show on drums beat in the Alternativni Institut klub. Mreµa NVO-a "Centar" Call for the 1st may The network "Centar" is calling you to join the march of the first may in order to celebrate this social date as well as supporting the initiative of the opening of a cultural center in the place of "Abra±ević". Our aim is to give back this place to the youth and artists in town, as it was in the past and to provide a neutral space, open to all public in town, to create, exchange, set up projects, access to cultural events and the possibility to be effective in the society we live in. The march will star at 10.00 am in front of the hotel ERO and the day will continued in the "Abra±ević" yard with: > free food stand > cleaning action of "Abra±ević" > DJs set from Mo DJs Union > concert of the band " Zoster " > performance of theater SIRA > poetry lecture with U.M.M.P > Film projection ANARCHISTS IN ACTION The actions against war in Irak initiated by anarchists from Mostar and Banja Luka continues in Mostar. The protestations in front of the American consula, the demonstrations, the graffitis and the performances anti-war are just a part of the repertory of this first collective and coordinated movement of the anarchists of Bosnia Herzegovina. A "Food not Bombs" street action at the doors of the American embassy in Sarajevo is planed this Saturday 30 March, the theme will be red and black and the meeting time 15h.
The Spring of the NVO "CENTAR" of Mostar This year, the celebration of the first day of Spring gave the opportunity for the network "CENTAR" to organize a common action in the park of the city. A collective action in the frame of the campaign carried by the NGO "Altruist" to promote the acceptation of handicapped people : "Take a look at us, we are also a part of you". This way, an access rampe was built in the "Gradski park" (Rondo side). The NVO "CENTAR" network gathered 9 unformals and non-government organizations of the region of Mostar (Alternativni Institut, Altruist, Forma F, Mladi Most, Mifoc, Omladska Romska Organizacija, Suncana Strana, Skart'Art) and of the federation MIFOC (Drugi Most and Guernica /fr, RAI /es, CRAMS /it) actually in campaign for the return and the rehabilitation of public places dedicated to the youth and the culture, swallowed up by the post-war privatization process in Bosnia Herzegovina. This network carries the initiative of rebuilding one of this place and to give it back it's originally purpose by opening and running collectively a Cultural, Social and Pluridisciplinary Center in Mostar. This Center will propose an alternative to the surrounding cultural division and the lack of independents cultural places free of any kind of nationalist propaganda in the area.
Return of the YOUTH SPACE In the frame of the Campaign for the reclaiming for youth spaces in order to create places dedicated to cultural / civic initiatives and open a socio cultural center in Mostar, a party will be held in "Heineken" klub in Mostar (next to Rondo) on tuesday 24 March in the evening. For your listening pleasure, DJ DEEE (D&B), Urban Bass soundsystem (reggae, jungle) and DJs WooPass and Color Blind (techno) will control the turntables and Vjs projection, info stand, body painting demo will entertained your eyes. The public action in the frame of the women day will start at 11h in Spanish square-Mostar. The V-DAY team invites you to join and that way support the fight against sexual discrimination and violence suffered by women and young women in Bosnia and Herzegovina. " NOW I WANNA BE YOUR DOG " Sunday 02.03.2003 a part of our members and animals defenders went to face the hunters organization "Golup" in theyre head office in Blagaj, in order to conviced them not to kill stray dogs of the surrounding as they plan to. They advertise with posters in all the area days before theyre hunt, suggesting owners of dog to lock them home this day. The atmosphere was tense and our claming failed but not without gave us the opportunity to point out problems of puppets abandon and wild dumping (which feed them and polute), first causes of the situation. Effectively, the numbers of homeless dogs is raising but it exist alternatives to those organized "Sunday morning hunts" . T wo alternatives are developed within MIFOC; one is to provide those dogs anti-rabic vaccination, the other one is to give them shelter waiting to find them a roof. CREATIV'PRODUCTION " (project) Saturday the first of March, in A.I Klub (Bunur), will be held the opening presentation of a creativ' workspace open to all who wish to learn several techniks such as sewing, design, craft. Some of the creation already made (bags, jewlerys, tee-shirts...) will be on sale. In the same time, an alternativ' fashion show will present the work of a team of creators from Mostar. This show was presented in Toulouse (France) during last november "Du Monde aux Balkans" festival . The show start at 22 PM and DJ Jasmina will follow...See u there ! The V day campaign

COLLECTING CLOTHES Action of collecting clothes for the immigration camp in Salakovac (30 km from Mostar) is in progress. We don't even need to mention in which conditions the people there live. They are living inside the fence and they are not allowed to bring anything inside the camp. We made the contact with some of them and they told us that in this moment the most needed thing for them is clothes. Since we all know how cold it is these days, we ask you to please activate yourself in the neighborhood and collect some clothing. You can stock it in MIFOC office (Lacina 6) whenever you want. ANIMALS
The collective " EKO-camp" in Ortijes start the project of building shelter for stray dogs, providing them food and veterinary cares and trying to find them a new "family". This project start spontaneously, after having hosted small stray dogs in Ortijes area and now as there is seven of them and as this number will increase, so will the needs of means like food and material to build shelters. The collective will be grateful to get support and address of organizations and/or individuals who could help them with the maintenance, hosting places... Contact : + 387 (0) 61 241 035 Good news for objectors in Mostar: the commission for civil service had finally meet and approved the request of the first Mostarian applicant. It's an important victory for us if we consider all the current obstructions made by people from the Defense Department in Mostar, like not passing information about such possible alternative to civil service, using verbal insults and pushing out of their office those who insist in their request.
