PROJECTS "
DU MONDE AUX BALKANS "
While
continuing their cooperation to the Mostar intercultural Festival, Drugi Most
and Guernica are also active in France. Since their creation, they never stop to
denunciate the helplessly of the international community, the abandon of
populations face to the act of nationalists and the non-application of civil
aspects of the peace agreement. In a time where the primetime of actualities are
diverted from this region, Drugi Most and Guernica constitute a concrete
interface of information and exchange with former Yugoslavia.
Since four years, conferences, concerts, support events, photographic exhibitions,
theater joining literature, are initiating the French public to the reality of
this region too often perceived through cliché. A new tribune of
information and exchange was formed around " Du Monde Aux Balkans ":
an annual festival which happened every autumn in Grenoble and Toulouse /
France to support and promote artistic projects open to this distant
European region and to give word to a youth asphyxiated by a cultural
brain wash used as a tool by national political structures to maintain
division and mistrust between the different cultures and discourage the new
influences. The aim of
"Du monde Aux Balkans" is presenting former Yugoslav artistic,
cultural and NGO scene. It is a place of presentation of ideas and creativity in
all fields of work. The festival itself implies exchange of information which
develops a sense responsibility towards the existing social events, especially
in the Balkans. Combining the different
artistic disciplines, creating projects together and debating with other
European citizens creates an understanding of what are the European cultural
challenges and the needs for a good cultural policy.
